The management of Nigeria National League side, Yobe Dessert Stars is set to pay the players and officials of the club 25% of their monthly allowance, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

This was contained in a letter of resolution by the management after their meeting on Friday. This according to the letter is to cut costs due to economic meltdown encountered by the state government which was brought by the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Feeder team will have their monthly allowance cut down to 50%.

The letter signed by Chairman Management Committee, Hon. Goni Bukar Lawal, reads in part: "The management committee of Yobe Dessert Stars at the end of its meeting today, 3rd April 2020 looking at the global pandemic of Covid-19 and the world economic melt down, resolved on the following measures; "Members of technical crew and players of the main team are to receive 25% of their monthly allowance while Feeder and Under 15 team are to receive 50% of their monthly allowance.

"With this development, the management regret any inconvenience this might have caused and expect a maximum cooperation and understanding.

The Nigeria National League went on Chrismas and New Year break ince December 2019 and yet to resume until the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. Due to outbreak, all the clubs were advised to release their players to their different homes to curb the spread of the deadly virus. As the disease continue to put the world on its knee, it is uncertain when the league will resume.
